CIDON Interior Design & Contract, experts in interior architecture and decoration, as well as in management of FF&E and OS&E equipment for the hotel sector, has carried out the interior design remodelling of the resort of the Gran Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa brand.

Located on the north coast of the island, one hour from the capital, Palermo, it is surrounded by traditional Sicilian villages where you can breathe a poetic, romantic and very authentic atmosphere.

Inspired by the towns of the Mediterranean, the resort, operated by the Palladium Hotel Group in Sicily, was based on the fulfilled objective of raising the group of both hotels to a five-star category, focused on couples, families and groups of friends, in which the details most exclusive coexist with a contemporary and harmonious design.

In order to adapt this hotel enclave to the needs of the current client, Azora Capital, owner of the hotel, operated by the Palladium Hotel Group embarks on the repositioning of the hotel hand in hand with different companies. Urcoisa has been in charge of the remodelling of the interior design of the resort, with the support of the CIDON team, in this case led by Juanjo Suárez, and made up of the architect Rocío Narváez and the interior designers Raquel Torices and Moisés Villagrán.

A remodel that seeks 5 *

CIDON’s intervention in the development of the interior design project has lasted a few months. From the tender to the delivery, 8 months elapsed, coinciding with the beginning of the execution of the project with the uncertain beginning of the pandemic, which was a challenge when facing the project.

The resort of more than 10 hectares of extension on the beach in Campofelice di Rocella (Palermo) was built in the 80s, being one of the most emblematic buildings of the decade.

The property proposed to create a familiar and welcoming tourist resort, integrated in the Sicilian culture, where neutral colors predominate with a mixture of blues and greens in connection with the surrounding natural landscape, merging architecture and decoration and endowing the spaces with modernity, but without neglecting the traditional essence.

On this occasion, in the interior design, the freshness of the spaces was sought due to its location near the beach, but quality also had to be increased in order to turn it into a 5-star hotel and raise the category, in accordance with the service.

The project is divided into 2 areas, corresponding to the two hotels that make up the resort. One of them was in an architectural state that required much more intervention than the other. In general, there was a rather old-fashioned style that completely changed its perception with the reform, seeking the unification of the different parts that compose it.

A large volume of the equipment has been manufactured in Spain and Italy, but another very significant one in our partners in Asia, complying with all environmental and quality certificates and requirements. These unique elements give a very special touch to the decoration, being a sign of CIDON’s identity.

The hotel has 469 rooms, 4 restaurants and 6 bars, 3 outdoor pools and direct access to the beach. It offers its clients a gastronomic variety focused on exploiting the local cuisine; It also has Mediterranean inspirations, a selection of meats, and even a culinary journey to Thailand.

In short, for the magnificent result, the combination of the large dimension of the project with the logistical difficulties for more than 70 trailers and containers from Spain, northern Italy, Vietnam and Indonesia has been a challenge, all of this at the most disturbing moment of the pandemic, and without forgetting that we are in Sicily, where being respected has its merit more than literary.

After the success achieved in this project, Azora Capital has contracted the services of CIDON for more hotels, among which is another hotel operated by Palladium Hotel Group in Ibiza, and the Hostel in Bilbao called Latroupe – La Granja.
