Iconic Building Reimagined as a New Sercotel Hotel in Seville

Sercotel has chosen a well-known building in the heart of Seville, where design, comfort, and services combine to offer each guest a unique experience that reflects the essence and charm of the majestic city.

Just two months before opening, one of the most iconic buildings in Plaza del Duque de la Victoria is entering the final stage of its transformation into a new Sercotel hotel in Seville. Promoted by Grupo Corporativo SORELOR, the Soraluce family’s asset management company, the project is the result of a comprehensive refurbishment that respectfully dialogues with the soul of the city and its unmistakable urban charm.

A Historic Building with a New Life in Plaza del Duque de la Victoria

Located in the heart of Seville’s city centre, the building formerly served for decades as the headquarters of Comisiones Obreras. Today, it embarks on a new chapter as part of the Sercotel portfolio, combining functionality, comfort and refined interior design.

The full renovation introduces a fresh and welcoming hospitality concept, carefully designed to provide each guest with a distinctive stay in one of Seville’s most vibrant and strategic locations.

Interior Design Concept: Timeless Aesthetics and Guest Experience

From the outset, the building’s transformation was conceived as an act of attentive listening—both to the architectural character of the property and to the rhythm of the surrounding city. The creative team at CIDON, led by Moisés Villagrán and Rocío Narváez, reinterpreted the building’s past through a timeless aesthetic aligned with Sercotel’s brand identity and Seville’s cultural heritage.

The interior design blends renewed classic elements with warm, inviting atmospheres. The 116 guest rooms and common areas are structured around a soft, neutral palette enhanced by deeper accents in textiles and decorative details. Noble materials such as wood, metal and glass are seamlessly integrated, reinforcing design coherence and strengthening the building’s personality throughout.

An Ode to the River and the Sea

The project draws inspiration from the historic connection between Seville and Guipúzcoa, linked through the Guadalquivir River and centuries of maritime trade. This narrative becomes the conceptual thread guiding the interior design.

Blue tones flow through the corridors connecting the building’s seven floors, evoking the river’s course towards the sea. Meanwhile, albero hues, greens and terracotta shades—unmistakable symbols of Seville—bring warmth and vibrancy to the common areas. These harmonious transitions wrap around the four façades of the building, recalling the city’s art, light and noble character.

Each chromatic and material choice carefully balances local identity with contemporary elegance, offering visitors a coherent, sensory and memorable hospitality experience.

“Each space is designed as part of a continuous narrative. We wanted guests to perceive a story that flows—connecting city, river and memory—without compromising contemporary comfort,” says Villagrán.

A New Hospitality Landmark in Seville

With this opening, Sercotel strengthens its commitment to Seville, integrating seamlessly into the city’s urban pulse while contributing a hotel that goes beyond accommodation to become an experience with soul.

The emblematic building in Plaza del Duque de la Victoria begins a new stage as a place of encounter and relaxation, where every stay invites guests to experience Seville from within. A destination that, in every detail, engages in dialogue with the city and allows it to breathe.
